Spring Carnival

The Spring Carnival is coming soon! Our class auction basket items have all been signed up for, but if you would still like to contribute, please let me know and I can make a few suggestions as to what can be added to the basket!

Also, we need volunteers to help out with the games at the carnival. Our class needs two more parents to cover the 5:20-5:50 and 6:55-7:30 shifts, so if you or someone you know if available, please sign up below!

Valentine's Day Party

Next month is our Valentine's Party, and we have decided to do a Valentine's "Breakfast for Lunch" meal with the students and we need your help! Below is a link you can use to sign up for food and supplies to drop off in the office before the party, which starts at 1:00 pm on 2/14. We are trying to minimize the amount of sweets brought in for the breakfast since the students will be eating plenty of treats from their Valentine boxes!

In addition, please have your child bring in 21 Valentines to deliver to classmates on this day (22 students in our class, this count does not include your own child). If you need any help with getting Valentines for your child, please let me know.

What's New With Math?

Hello Parents! This coming week, students will be starting base 10 blocks. If you want to familiarize yourself with our upcoming unit, click the link below to lsiten to a song that sums up 2.1 unit 5:

September

It's a new month! And a new month means a new update on upcoming events:

- MAP testing begins next week. Remember, second graders take THREE tests: Reading, Math, and Language. The questions will no longer be read to the students, so they will likely take longer to complete the tests.

- There is no school on Monday, September 4 because of Labor Day.

- We will be beginning to use Rosetta Stone next week, so keep an eye out for Password Cards going out in Tuesday folders so they can work on it at home as well.

Let's have a great month! :)
